How to play Guess The Song

Hear it. Name it. Own the reveal. Five songs a day, same for everyone.

The daily

Every day you get five songs — the same five every player gets. Press play, and each round gives you a short clip of a song from a real music video. Type the title to score. The game is free and needs no account: you play in your browser, and your streak lives on that device.

Hear the clip, then guess

Each round plays a short sample first — a few seconds so a song is recognizable, not a giveaway. You type the title into the box (autocomplete helps you pick), and if you name it on the shorter clip you score more. One extra listen is always available, but the title is worth less once you use it.

The artist is a bonus

Title the song and you score. Name the artist too and you get extra points on top. The artist bonus is the difference between a good run and a great one, so the title comes first and the artist caps it off.

Reveal and keep going

When a round ends the answer comes up and the real music video plays — the reveal is the part meant to be fun to lose to. After the daily five you can keep playing a fresh set of songs without restarting your score, or hop into a practice pool (a decade like 80s/90s/2000s, a genre like Pop/Rock/Electronic, or the whole catalogue) any time.

Your streak

Finish the daily and your streak grows on this device. Your best streak is shown with your score, and your daily result shares as a compact grid — the same style as your favourite word game. A fresh five drops at midnight UTC, so the daily is the same for everyone wherever they are. Every past daily stays playable in the archive.
